Introduction to Project Photos: Stateline Road, Holyoke Township, MN

Residents along a section of Stateline Road were used to annual flooding due to the road’s frost susceptible soils. In 2011, Green Aggregate Fill was installed in .75 miles of the road to reduce frost penetration and resulting damage. Not only was frost protection added to the road bed, its overall condition has improved significantly, as the void space in the shredded tires provides better drainage than native soils in the area. Construction was completed within the township’s budget because Green Aggregate Fill was a less expensive option than soils. The completed road is shown below in the photo provided by Land Logic, Inc., the contractor on this project.
